Display screen equipment risk assessments

Under the Display Screen Equipment Regulations you have to carry out workstation risk assessments for staff using computers. This includes staff who work from home.

Our display screen equipment risk assessment looks at:

Display screen

Keyboard

Desk or work surface

Work chair*

Environment – lighting, glare, noise, heat, humidity

Software

We assess each person at their display screen using an assessment form which we’ll agree with you first.  During the assessment each person will receive an agreed handout.

You’ll get a report for each person we’ve assessed. We’ll include any recommendations and suggested completion dates for any necessary actions.

If you make any changes to the work stations, software or environment, you should carry a re-assessment.

 

 

*Our assessment may highlight the need for a special chair for particular users.  This will incur an additional cost from our external specialists
